The Company Our client, an industry leader in plastic disposable products for the food industry, is seeking a Vice President to lead new product innovation for the company. This is opportunity located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States and relocation assistance would be offered. The Opportunity The Vice President, New Products will provide leadership and direction in the research, evaluation and utilization of new and emerging technologies, including materials, processing equipment, and processing methodologies that can provide the company with competitive advantages and enhance the company's overall business strategy. Essential Job Functions Lead the Company's product innovation and technology strategy and refine areas of strategic focus Manage the prioritization of all new product development initiatives including new product initiatives, custom products, line extensions, and break-through products Conduct ongoing assessment of product development opportunities to ensure those with the highest strategic and commercial potential are prioritized Provide business case justification for product support or abandonment Lead regular portfolio review meetings to ensure proper balance in portfolio along with consensus on priorities Research, identify and evaluate competitive new materials or technologies for potential acquisition or partnerships Participate in the selection of the appropriate operating equipment to ensure the best possible performance Research and evaluate technologies, production processes, material sources, and additives to effectively compete with low cost manufacturing operations
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Material, or Electrical) Minimum of 10 years experience in research and product development in the plastics industry Experience in plastic extrusion, thermoforming, and tooling fabrication Experience in leading highly-skilled, international technology teams If interested send resume in MS Word format to careers@agroupnc.com attention Bryan Carson.
