DESCRIPTION

Works under the direct supervision of the ICF/DD House Manager as assigned. Provides instructional training to the clients. Assists clients in acquiring necessary household and communication skills for independent living. Collects data and monitors household training programs. Supervises and assists clients in completing day-to-day routine household chores. If assigned cook duties will monitor selection of food items, adhere to all requirements/regulations with assistance of the dietary consultant services. Maintains the kitchen area, proper storage of food items in accordance with Long Term Care regulations; stores and maintains properly labeled cleaning aids. Prepares and serves meals as outlined in the menu. Trains residents in necessary skills regarding meal preparation and kitchen duties as outlined in each resident's IPP.

1 Full-time position is available.

Location: Searcy, AR.

DUTIES

Manages and supervises 10 residents' active treatment program in accordance with their individual program plans, and demonstrates the skills and techniques necessary to implement individual program plans.

Is responsible for program data collection and program training instruction.

Is responsible for the completion of necessary ICF/DD forms and reports.

Provides care and instruction for all clients in all areas of daily living.

Assists in household cleaning and maintenance of the facility.

Maybe assigned cook duties and meal preparation and assists in dietetic services, including serving and conducting the meals by demonstrating socially appropriate behavior at mealtime.

Supervise kitchen area as to ICF/DD regulations.

Manages clients behaviors in a professional manner and demonstrates the necessary skills and
techniques to intervene effectively.

Is responsible for weekly meetings with residents to review weekly menus, and assists residents in selecting changes they may want in the menu.

Is responsible for the supervision of all documentation of menu changes.

Attends meetings and training sessions as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in working with individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. Experience in household/direct care duties in a residential/health care setting. Ability to work well with others. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these qualifications. Must complete CPI Training, positive skills training and other Pathfinder assigned in service training.

Must have knowledge of training techniques and strategies as they apply to the developmentally disabled individual, be able to observe behavior and determine needs based on these observations; ability to interact appropriately with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must be able to operate all household and kitchen appliances for cooking and cleaning in the facility.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must possess current Arkansas driver's license, have current auto liability insurance coverage, and be physically able to drive to various locations in Arkansas Manages and supervises 10 residents' active treatment program in accordance with their individual program plans, and demonstrates the skills and techniques necessary to implement individual program plans.
