Position Description
A leading medical technology/device company is searching for a Mechanical Engineer (Design & Automation) to work within the Glucose Sensor Manufacturing Automation Group. The qualified candidate will develop mechanical assembly and testing devices for a new product line that will combine 2 different glucose sensing technologies under one shell to ultimately produce a more reliable and accurate device.
Position Responsibilities
Perform calculations and analyses to verify designs and document results in engineering reports and laboratory notebooks.
Develop specifications, for equipment and work with vendors and suppliers to ensure that specifications are met.
Design and work with robotic equipment, fluid delivery systems, fiber-optics, and adhesives.
Prepare tooling drawings of designs
Prepare and execute machine and process validations. (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Assist in developing the device design and its manufacturing process simultaneously.
Plan and lead execution of design verification activities.
Prepare and present comprehensive design reviews
Design parts to be manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining and extrusion
Basic Qualifications
Experience in process and / or design validation.
Proficiency in Solidworks
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
Project management experience
Experience in robotics and / or electromechanical design.
Experience in conducting statistical analysis
Experience with writing and executing validation documents (IQ, OQ, PQ) and designs of experiments (D.O.E).
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors in Engineering
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 4+
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Experience with fiber optics and or related optical engineering.
