POSITION MISSION The Director of Donor Relationships will coordinate other CERD staff, the technology staff (for data), Major Gifts staff, Marketing, Advocacy, and Community Impact staff to identify, cultivate and grow deeper relationships with targeted individual donors and donor affinity groups (those with similar interests). There are many methods that will be used to nurture the relationship, but some could be thoughtfully developed, small scale, issue-focused meetings and events throughout the year. The engagement will educate and inspire the donor to deepen their commitment to our work, and allow us to begin to know targeted donors in more depth.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES RESPONSIBILITIES: • Mine donor data and coordinate with staff to identify key donor segments and constituent groups to target and build out CRM plans. Work closely with CERD, the Volunteer Center and Community Impact staff in plan development and where they will be utilized.
RELATIONSHIPS SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director for Donor Relationships works under the supervision of the Executive Vice President. The Director will also work closely with the Vice President for Community Education and Resource Development and the Vice President of Major Gifts and Planned Giving.
- Develop and champion the implementation of a tracking mechanism to measure and report the level of our engagement/degree of commitment with individual donors. • Identify “people with passion” and turn them into Champions of causes • Plan/coordinate the events or meetings or other activities (such as volunteer opportunities) that will attract and engage the targeted donors • Ensure that key CERD staffs, Community Impact Staff, Advocacy staff and/or others are supportive of and involved with efforts to nurture the relationships with the donors. • Coordinate/ensure appropriate follow-up with attendees; make sure “thank you” happens in very timely fashion, as well as the answering of donor questions which may have needed research. • Help identify ways to use Social Media to engage with donors, identify donors with passions, and ultimately connect those donors to ways in the community in which that can fulfill their desire to be involved.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing/Communication or related field; equivalent experience will be carefully considered. • Experience with data analysis, segment marketing and development of customized marketing plans. • Customer / Donor Relations and event planning background required. • Knowledge of MSOffice – Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc. preferred • Computer/Internet/WEB and Social Media-knowledgeable highly desirable • Experience in working well with teammates and in a collaborative setting desired • Positive relationships in the community would be beneficial PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Motivated by Mission – A commitment to contributing to the betterment of the community Projects a poised and professional image.
