Job Description: Position works closely with scheduling partner, group surgeons, hospital staff, referring physicians, and insurance carriers to coordinate all aspects of patient surgery.

Performs all aspects of scheduling in-patient and out-patient surgical procedures at multiple facilities. Performs scheduling of out-patient diagnostic testing and diagnostic procedures at multiple facilities. Obtains all necessary preoperative insurance authorizations and precertifications as appropriate. Coordinates pre-admission testing and communicates preoperative instructions and surgery process with patients and families.

Coordinates physician schedules for multiple sites. Minimum Requirements: High school graduate required. Knowledge and working use of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding. Influenza vaccination will be required for all personnel working within LVHN, who have patient contact, unless medically contraindicated or due to a bonafide religious belief or practice.

Preferred Qualifications: Two to four years of experience in a health care setting and graduate of medical administrative assistant program preferred. Knowledge of and experience with third party and managed care plans preferred.
