The position is for a programmer working in the IT-Operations area of GBM Americas. This department supports many of the mid and back office functions of the firm.

Responsibilities

The role is for a junior developer in our Reference Data and Confirmation systems. The applicant is expected to be self-motivated and dedicated to a high level of customer service. This is a contract-to-perm position, with details depending on candidate’s qualifications and work experience.

The position requires the ability to program on diverse platforms, develop both front and back end systems, interact well with personnel (both locally and globally) understand and implement their requirements. Applicant will be asked to integrate existing systems into a global environment.

The position will specialize in meeting the needs of our Reference Data department. The data to manage will include Customer, Security, Sales People, and other types of reference data. The developer will be asked to produce ad-hoc data requests, modify screens, update data feeds, update wording, layout and legal requirements of trade confirmations, research and produce historical confirmation records, and maintain prospectus tracking systems. Existing systems will be integrated into global systems.

Role Summary

Design and implementation of multi-tiered applications and reporting that are used by Operations globally.

Enhance and support an existing proprietary system which manages the books and records globally.

Develop and maintain trade processing and other workflow related applications.

Develop trade, position, and reconciliation automation through working with internal business users and external utilities to resolve workflow related issues.

Assist in managing the entire software lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment and documentation.

Work closely with business users and other IT staff to test and roll out new and enhanced applications.

Support and maintain existing systems and work on special projects.
