This position serves as the Associate Director of Nursing at a complex maximum security psychiatry hospital. This position functions as the first line supervisor to the RN Managers 2. Responsible for the daily operations of the nursing department, including, ensuring adequate daily nursing coverage on each in-patient unit 24 hours per day/7 days a week of a 210 bed accredited hospital. Assists in selection, assignment, training and supervision of all nursing personnel. Serves as Nursing leadership representative on a number of key hospital committees. Coordinates Nursing Performance Improvement activities with Center-wide Performance Improvement. Assists in determining and monitoring nursing personnel needs, medical equipment and supplies for budgeting purposes. Serves as nursing advisor and resource person to other departments and committees. Assumes responsibility for the overall Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing in a complex work environment.
Required Education and Experience:
Possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Three years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse 14 or Registered Nurse Manager 14, or two years equivalent to a Registered Nurse Manager 15 or Registered Nurse Director 15.
Alternate Education and Experience:
Possession of a master’s degree in nursing and two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse 14 or Registered Nurse Manager 14; or, possession of a master’s degree in nursing and one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse Manager 15 or Registered Nurse Director 15 may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
