Analog Validation Engineer




As an entry level Engineer, you will be working as a member of the Columbia Design Centers Electrical (analog) Validation (EV) team that is responsible for the analog validation of Intel's next generation high performance Server CPUs. You will be under the tutelage of an analog validation engineer to perform various validation activities on CPU chips and boards in the lab. These activities include analog circuit testing and debug, test software development, circuit board testing, and signal waveform measurements and analysis. There are three specific opportunities available in this group. First is lab data collection and statistical analysis. The second is lab test software development. The third is analog circuit testing and debug. The background and interest of the applicant will determine which opportunity will be assigned to the new hire. Behavioral traits for this position include: written and verbal communication skills, multitasking, and problem solving.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work, research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications

  • Must have either a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • At the BS level only, must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
  • Minimum 3 months experience working in a hardware lab with test equipment, computer systems and test stations
  • Minimum 6 months experience with software development, including experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and/or Visual Basic
Preferred qualifications

  • 6+ mths experience working in a hardware lab with test equipment, computer systems and test stations
  • 3+ mths experience with signal waveform transmission effects
  • 3+ mths experience with mathematical and statistical analysis, including knowledge of JMP and/or Matlab
