Job Description :
s Responsible for assisting with the maintenance of live animal displays with a wide variety of marine life.
s Knowledge of theory and practice in maintaining an aquatic ecosystems.
s Demonstrate computer skills necessary to do the job
s Ability to meet and interact with the public and other Company CAST members in an effective and courteous manner.
s Ability to learn and work with Company policies and procedures.
s Working knowledge of and ability to use various types of Aquarium equipment and husbandry procedures.
s Must have solid English grammar composition skills.
s Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people, both in person and via the telephone, while maintaining a professional and pleasant composure.
s Ability to work independently over periods of time with minimal supervision.
s Ability to understand moderately complex written regulations and instructions.
s Must have self-motivation, willingness and ability to learn, resourcefulness, thoroughness, and the ability to work with others.
s Must have good verbal communication skills.
s Enforcing and exemplifying all HTA policies, procedures and programs.
s Position requiring performance experience in one or several areas of responsibility.
s Able to work with considerable independence within the scope of established rules and regulations.
s Must maintain highest level of integrity, morality and honesty.
s Must be a top performer and a model within the organization.
s Must attend and act with professionalism and respect in all inter-company meeting, endeavors and communications.
s Must be a team player.
s Non air-conditioned Aquarium spaces, working in close proximity to other CASTmembers and guests.
s May be subjected to a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.
s Handle hazardous material while complying with all safety and HAZMAT requirements.
s Working in wet environment, cold water
s Have completed higher level biology college courses or courses in related field. Completion of a Bachelors in the biological sciences is preferred but comparable experience will be considered.
s Previous experience in a public aquarium, animal care, or a zoological setting is desirable.
s Knowledge or experience of island living will be advantageous.
