Engineer Long Range Planning

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Primary responsibilities include building and analyzing multiple long range mine plan options, to develop optimum long range mine plans for CPE operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.

Maintain a strong personal commitment to work quality, recognizing that projects may extend over weeks or months. Develop a strong project/study management approach to assigned work.

Develop effective Life of Mine plans linked to marketing projections which maximize value of existing and contemplated reserves. Ensure that mine plans are optimized for the range of equipment and activities (dragline, truck/shovel, production dozing, cast blasting and coal operations).

Communicate Life of Mine plans to Management and mine site personnel in an effective and timely manner. Document the plans to CPE and reserve reporting standards.

Collaborate closely with mine site planning engineers to jointly deliver Budgets and Re-forecasts, and ensure life of mine design assumptions are practical, can be implemented and that compliance with the plans is measurable. Additionally, provide assistance and support to site engineering groups as required.

Ensure that mine planning best practices are identified and shared across CPE sites, and continually strive to improve the groups technical and software skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering or related engineering field

Proficiency with XPAC, XERAS, TALPAC, DRAGSIM,

Strong computer skills required, including MS Office and AutoCAD.

Excellent communication skills: written, oral and presentation formats.

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment is essential.

Ability to interface and communicate with operations personnel.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively under general supervision.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
SurvCADD, Ellipse and Runge experience preferred.

Two to five years relevant mine engineering experience.
