Senior Oracle Applications DBA
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Applications Database Administrator in our Los Angeles, California office.
This position is responsible for assisting with the rollout and support of Oracle 11.5.10 eBusiness Suite and other Enterprise Applications. The position includes but is not limited to: installation of the physical databases and applications, performing all database administration tasks and interfacing with other IT personnel to design, test, and implement solutions to support the implementation and the Production system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily database administration duties – e.g., backup and restore, patch application, and upgrades
Configure and install databases and applications as needed
Provide support on day to day Production issues
Plan and conduct regression tests for applied patches and upgrades
Monitor system performance and provide input to the performance tuning plan
Work with implementation team to define and test system security parameters including: responsibilities, request sets, and system access
Work with development team to migrate / install application development items (e.g., forms, reports, packages, workflows, etc.)
Perform QA and review of development code to ensure performance and stability of the Production Applications
Develop and update documentation of all DBA processes and procedures
Serve as technical lead on projects and supervise other team members as needed
When appropriate, investigate new technology and provide technical recommendations to IT Management
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
5+ years of experience with Oracle 10g & 11g in AIX & Linux environment
Knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture, installation, configuration, backup and recovery, as well as UNIX scripting
Hands-on experience on Oracle Application Server or Fusion Middleware and Oracle eBusiness Suite 11i or R12
Experience with Oracle RAC and Microsoft SQL Server desired
Good understanding of Oracle support processes and resources
Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating to end users and other technical personnel
Strong teamwork and customer service oriented attitude a must
Night and weekend hours required on a rotation basis
This position could require some degree of domestic and international travel.
