About Our HR Generalist
Avascent is looking for a temporary skilled professional to deliver HR services across a range of functional areas including benefits & compensation, payroll, compliance, learning & development, performance management, and talent acquisition & management. This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, a drive for quality output, high productivity, and versatility. You will be among colleagues and leaders that hold professionalism, intellect and a sense of humor in high regard.
This is a fill-in role while our HR Generalist is on leave. The position will begin December 12, 2012 and end on or around May 3, 2013.
Delivers Avascent’s full suite of benefit programs (medical, dental, welfare, 401k), including plan design, administration, billing, and communication. Runs reports and reviews bills monthly for accuracy and data integrity. Responds to, facilitates, and resolves employee benefit questions. Conducts orientation and benefit workshops. Develops effective working relationships with broker and direct vendors.
Establishes, implements and administers joint payroll processing with accounting.
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions, including OFCCP and DOL Wage and Hour. Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Supports talent acquisition efforts from candidate screening, selection, interview scheduling to employment and onboarding.
Supports Avascent’s learning & development programs in conjunction with HR team and consulting staff.
Ensures integrity and compliance of HR records and data. Maintains personnel files for recordkeeping and compliance.
Knowledge across a broad portfolio of employment & benefit programs, including plan design & structure, state & federal regulations, and compliance. Knowledge of human resources laws and payroll/tax issues required.
Competence and comfort maintaining multiple priorities and projects across a broad array of subject areas.
High sensitivity for protocol and confidentiality.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Fluency with various HRIS/benefit systems and Microsoft Office.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience in a generalist role.
