The Inventory Trainee with material costing responsibilities is part of Weyerhaeuser’s Distribution Business. This position is located in the Central US, and could be located St. Paul, MN, Dallas, TX, or Boise, ID. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Division Inventory Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting analyst work of multiple Inventory Specialists for inventory replenishment, inventory management which includes turns, dead stock, fill rates and forecasting. They will conduct work which contributes directly to product line profitability. May support product training for the sales team and operations team. They will support the resolution of product claims and coordinate with regional peers to effectively address shortages and over stock situations. Generate reports as required. Review orders for accuracy and work with suppliers to expedite purchases as needed. Maintain vendor relations. Participate in coordination and execution of product replenishment tactics between locations. Must have a commitment to continuous education and improvement. They will provide reporting and documentation of pricing structures and serve as the point-of-contact for pricing inquiries from internal sales associates. This role will involve intensive hands on training to eventually support replenishment for multiple locations across the West/Mid-West US.


  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field completed within the past 3 years
  • Superior Excel Skills
  • Experience in SAP and/or MRP
  • CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
  • LEAN training preferred
