Conduct Administrative telephone and mail hearings for out-of-state residents concerning suspensions or revocations of NC driving privileges for DMV. Conduct liability insurance hearings. Respond to inquiries from attorneys, clerk of courts, judges, transportation agencies and private citizens regarding suspensions, revocations or problems concerning driving records by reviewing records including court reports, citations, affidavits in an impartial manner. Render immediate decisions regarding suspensions, revocation restorations, probation, clinic assignments and hearings and pre-hearings and conference requests. Conduct pre-hearings and hearings by mail through correspondence with individuals outside of NC. Apply guidelines in accordance with Division policies and motor vehicle laws. Submit timely and accurate reports regarding daily and monthly activities. Applicant must have a North Carolina Driver License with no active points and no suspensions or revocations in the last ten years. **Applicant subject to a criminal background/motor vehicle record check** **DMV does not accept faxed or emailed applications**

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Must have experience in rendering decisions and communicating effectively with customers in a courteous and professional manner. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Applicants with knowledge of DMV and/or court system are encouraged to apply. Must be proficient in the operation of a personal computer and able to enter and extract data from a database environment. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including knowledge of proper grammatical techniques. Ability to interpret and apply DMV polices and procedures and motor vehicle laws as prescribed in Chapter 20 of the N.C.G.S. Must possess good listening skills to hear testimony and review evidence. Ability to review and process information to determine a conclusion, action, compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Ability to work independently. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must have experience communicating via telephone using proper etiquette.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college/university and one year of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. . . . .
