Title: Associate Unified Communications Technical Analyst
Location: NJ-Piscataway

Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for the position of Associate Unified Communications (UC) Technical Analyst in the Global IT organization. This candidate will join the UC team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Voice Communications systems and services including VoIP, TDM, SIP services, automated call distribution, voice mail, unified messaging, audio conferencing, mobility, IP gateways, immersive video, contact centers, and networking infrastructure.

This position is a hands-on, technical position. The candidate will have proven experience in IP telephony and will collaborate with teams to successfully and seamlessly integrate communications systems globally. This candidate will operate, analyze, and improve the global UC infrastructure.

Other responsibilities Include:
  • Performing day-to-day telecom operations
  • Maintaining and updating the UC Lab environment
  • Conducting end-user phone system moves, adds & changes
  • Evaluating new deployment designs and suggesting modifications
  • Identifying problems and trends, creating solutions, and developing preventative maintenance and improvement plans
  • Monitoring and managing VoIP performance
  • Working closely with managed service vendors to drive project initiatives and service levels
  • Assisting in the administration and maintenance of telecom equipment and infrastructure
  • Designing, deploying, and supporting new UC applications and services
  • Developing and updating technical standards documentation
  • Maintaining performance and reliability reporting for UC
  • Acting as liaison with vendors regarding budgeting and system pricing
  • Identifying and troubleshooting operational issues with telephony and data hardware in a converged network environment
  • Managing projects, or aspects of a larger project, from start to finish
  • Utilizing PC tools including MS power point, MS Excel, MS project, and Visio on a regular basis
This position requires the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of Associates degree in Computer Science, Communications, or equivalent. Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Must have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a large, complex telecommunications environment, either TDM or VoIP
  • Must be willing to travel globally 5-10% annually
  • Must have broad knowledge of computer systems and working knowledge of LAN and WAN design configuration, including Quality Of Service (QOS)
Preferred Training/Certifications
  • Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Cisco and/or Avaya Unified Communications Certified Training
  • Cisco Networking Training
  • Cisco and/or Avaya Certified Contact Center Training
  • Knowledge of Cisco Communication Manager 6.1 and above, Unity Connection, Call Manager Express, Cisco Gateways and Gatekeeper, and Contact Center Express systems
  • Experience with Avaya PBX systems, Avaya Call Center technology, including ACD, IVR, scripting, and Nice systems
  • Working knowledge of video conferencing and or immersive video experience
