Weigh Station Clerks weigh vehicles entering the City's solid waste facilities, assess fees, receive money and records transactions, and directs traffic. Employees are responsible for accuracy of cash handling, charge systems, daily balance reports, and for insuring that the rules and regulations regarding dumping are followed. Weigh Station Clerks also answer inquiries and handle complaints regarding City services, procedures and fees. Weigh Station Clerks may work at one of two locations: 27

Ave and Lower Buckeye or Dixileta and I-17.

Currently one part time and full time vacancy exist, however this list may be utilized to fill additional positions if they are approved to fill over the life span of the list.

RECRUITMENT DATES

Recruitment closes February 4, 2013. All materials must be received by 11:59 p.m. on this date

SALARY

$12.86 (minimum) - $18.64 (maximum) hourly. Positions designated as part-time do not include benefits. Incumbents hired for current part time vacancies will be scheduled in shifts of up to 10 hours per day and 20 hours a week, including Saturdays.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

One year of experience performing cash handling functions such as cashiering, or clerical bookkeeping tasks.

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.

Requires working in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, dust, strong odors and exhaust fumes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Cash handling experience

Excellent customer service skills

Computer skills/knowledge
