Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance and process problems with injection molding equipment. Monitor product quality and process productivity including optimization activities. Assist with Engineering tests of existing and new tooling. Perform mold set-up and production start-ups as necessary.

Research, identify recommend, and order new equipment to meet new and existing production requirements. Design and develop tool install requirements and ensure all required facilities are in place to include design and layout of production equipment and availability of electrical, gas, water or other required facilities are available

Facilitate the install and setup new equipment. Perform maintenance activities including preventative and predictable maintenance on injection molding machines and accessories to include grinders, heaters, robots, etc

Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair injection molding and auxiliary equipment to ensure availability for production requirements

Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment

Document all tool installation and maintenance activities as needed to support documented procedures; enter data as required. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accurate

Provide assistance with robot programming and optimization

Perform root cause analysis of common processing issues

Install injection molds and set-up process

Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Associates degree in related field

and

Six plus (6+) years working on injection molding equipment (Engel) or equivalent (metal, plastic or ceramic) or the equivalent to include the purchase and installation of new equipment, new tool testing and troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and understanding of SPC, micrometers and gauging

Experience with computers to include working knowledge of basic office suite products

Experience reading blueprints and engineering drawings

Experience writing work instructions in a manufacturing environment

Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and ability

Ability to read and interpret work instruction and schematics

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in Engineer or Maintenance

Robot programming experience preferred (Yushin)

Cavity pressure experience

Electrical License

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to read and interpret work instruction and schematics

Criteria/Conditions

Employee will be required to work in environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity

Occasionally may be required to lift up to 50 pounds during the course of the work day

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
