Accounting Director -Sales and Marketing
. This position will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate execution of the month-end financial reporting close and reconciliation cycle and the identification and implementation of necessary internal controls, ensuring the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with applicable US GAAP and SEC rules and that financial reporting processes are in compliance with internal and SOX control procedures.
This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, documenting and maintaining policies and procedures supporting efficient and effective processes as well as maintain strong internal controls over the financial reporting process.
This position will be required to research and document technical accounting issues related to new product offerings including analysis of the revenue recognition method.
This position will act as one of the primary contacts for the Corporate Internal Reporting Group, Corporate Tax Group, and the external audit team, and will be responsible for coordinating with other groups within the Accounting Department and WVO to provide schedules and analysis as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintains the overall accounting infrastructure of the company and its affiliated entities in order to meet the requirements of all relevant users including investors, lenders, federal/state tax authorities and company management.
Design, implement, document and maintain policies and procedures supporting efficient and effective processes as well as maintain strong internal controls over the financial reporting process.
Directs, manages and supervises the preparation of quarterly and annual financial and tax reporting packages, as well as ad-hoc schedules and analyses as requested by the company’s executive management and WVO finance teams.
Research and document technical accounting issues related to new product offerings including analysis of the revenue recognition method.
Directs, manages and supervises the preparation and analysis of accounts and account activity.
Coaching and developing staff including formal objective setting, performance reviews and providing ongoing and regular feedback.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA designation preferred
Knowledge and skills:
Excellent technical accounting research skills
Detail oriented and excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
Strong time management skills and organizational skills
Previous manager experience required
Ability to recruit, train and motivate finance/accounting talent
Strong problem solving abilities
Strong writing skills including documentation of technical accounting position papers, policies and procedures
Demonstrates an ability to maintain professional composure and poise
Functional working knowledge of general ledger applications
Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
7 years accounting experience (including 3 years in a supervisory position) including public/private experience
Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
