Frazier Rehab Institute is a comprehensive rehabilitation provider in the Kentuckiana area. This includes a 135-bed rehab hospital in the Jewish Hospital Medical Campus and over 20 outpatient rehab sites, including Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital, owned in partnership with Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services and Clark Memorial Hospital. The Rehab aquatic tech provides a support role in the delivery of therapy services in the aquatic setting. This includes assisting with therapeutic interventions, provide activities and locomotor training under the direction of the therapist/assistant, and preparation and cleaning of the department and treatment area -including monitoring of the pool chemicals. The Rehab aquatic tech may also prepare the patient for treatment and assist the patient with showering and ADL’s after therapy, as directed by the therapist or therapist assistant. In addition, the Rehab aquatic tech serves in the role as office coordinator when requested by the Manager/Director. Finally, the Rehab aquatic tech functions as an effective team member and contributes to the development and achievement of department and organizational goals and objectives.
Minimum 60 credit hours completion toward degree in exercise science, physiology, or health related field or two years of experience in patient care in an outpatient therapy department required. Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and basic exercise science strongly preferred.
Six months patient care experience in a health care facility preferred.
Must obtain adult First Aide, pediatric First Aid, Basic CPR, and Jefferson County Pool attendant certification within 60 days of hire.
Clinical skills include the physical capacity to assist with therapeutic interventions in the therapy pool, including locomotor training. Effective time management. Effective oral and written communication skills.
