Devlin Manor Health Care Center is a 124 bed long term care/short term care rehabilitation facility located in Cumberland, Maryland. Currently Devlin Manor has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Dietitian to join our team! This position would be responsible for floating between Devlin Manor and Moran Manor. We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to work in our facilities providing nutritional care to adult geriatric patients.
Duties include but are not limited to;
The Dietitian provides recommendations and documentation of nutritional information for inpatients. The Dietitian will also serve as a resource for medical nutrition therapy within the facility. Presents educational material to inpatients, outpatients, hospital programs, and community groups.
Obtains inpatient information concerning diet history, and will record and maintain information regarding inpatient food preferences. Ensures that charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive of services provided to residents which will also include the residents response to the services. Completing comprehensive nutrition assessments for all residents and incorporating nutrition interventions into the individualized interdisciplinary plan of care for residents as indicated. Ensures the facility has a weight system in place where weights are accurately and consistently obtained and a monthly weight report is generated to evaluate changes in weight, skin status and hydration. Assists in the development of a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/need of the residents and the goals to be accomplished for each dietary problem/need that has been identified. Will also assist in quarterly reviews and revisions of care plans or as when needed. Participating with the interdisciplinary teams to provide professional guidance for assessing and implementing care strategies and monitoring nutrition and hydration status of residents Ensures that all residents who are receiving internal physical therapy are routinely assessed for their nutritional requirements within the recommended guidelines. Encourages the resident and resident family to participate in the development and review of the residents care plan. Ensures adherence to quality assurance processes by routinely auditing meals and observing residents during meal rounds.
- Bachelors degree in nutrition or a related field.
- Current licensure in the State of Maryland as a Dietitian-Nutritionist.
- Current registration or registry-eligible as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- 2 + years of experience as a Registered Dietitian. Some evening work may be required.
