The Drafter position is responsible for working with Engineers/Designers on the generation of SolidWorks models, SolidWorks assemblies, SolidWorks drawings, as well as detailed manufacturing, assembly, inspection, design concept and marketing drawings within service level agreements in support of Greene, Tweed Engineering across all Greene, Tweed Business Groups. In addition, this position is responsible for the drafting work required to process part number add's (PNA) and design iterations, as required, for Engineering Change Notices (ECN). This position also entails defining and maintaining the part number and drawing file electronic data and working within all applicable departmental guidelines in place for all Greene, Tweed facilities. This position is also responsible for the overall quality of drafting work produced by the Global Drafting Team for Engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Produce detailed models, assemblies and drawings following the guidance of the relevant Engineer/Designer, Drafting Manager or Drafting Team Lead. This includes detail models and drawings for new applications of existing technology as well as new technologies required for Future Value projects.

Perform all part number add (PNA) documentation processes including the generation of standard and non-standard product lines across all Greene, Tweed Engineering Business Groups. Define and maintain part number assignment logs and follow procedures set for by the ISO 9001 quality system in place for all Greene, Tweed facilities.

Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) as assigned by the Drafting Manager or Drafting Team Lead and support the drafting work required for ECN's that are addressed by other Engineers/Designers as required. In the processing role, fully evaluate and disposition all work in progress (WIP), stock and internal or customer inventory. Relay impact of design changes to Sales, Manufacturing and the customer as needed.

Properly utilize and assist in the creation and maintenance of digital file storage system to protect and control the electronic data generated within Greene, Tweed Engineering function.

Assist with the creation of and work within the work instructions and guidelines set forth for internal design and drafting standards as well as the ISO 9001 quality system in place for all Greene, Tweed facilities.

Assist with the creation of and work within the work instructions and standards defined for the production of marketing materials for use on the internet web site and other customer service related systems that disseminate technical information for customer use across all Greene, Tweed Business groups.

Train/Mentor drafting personnel on modeling/drafting best practices and work instructions. Responsible for the overall quality of drawings produced by the drafting team and as such will be responsible of initiating ECN's on drawing corrections and forwarding corrective actions for drafting improvements to the Drafting Manager.

Required Skills

Qualifications:
Minimum education is a High School Diploma. High School Diploma plus an Associates degree or 1 to 3 years business or technical school is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience as Drafter or Designer using 3D modeling software. Four plus years experience preferred.

Personal Competencies: Ability to learn, Capacity for work, Interpersonal Skills, Urgency to drive projects to completion, Detail orientation, Creativity, Strategic decision making, Ability to work multi-culturally.

Software: SolidWorks is preferred, but experience working with AutoCAD, PDMWorks, AutoDesk, ProE or SolidEdge is also acceptable

Experience with Engineering Change Notice (ECN), Part Number Add (PNA) and Inquiry required.

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
