The Facility Security Officer will independently and as part of a team to administer US Government security policies and procedures at a medium-sized cleared facility. Provide guidance concerning all security administrative functions in support of a NISP complaint security department. Oversee the processing of personnel security clearances via the e-QIP, administer security awareness training programs, maintain document control library, process visit & foreign travel requests, create subcontractor DD254s, process adverse information reports, and nominate personnel for SCI accesses. Work with PCs and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Input and retrieve data from security-related database management systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Processes personnel security requests (e-QIP) and maintains personnel security folders. Perform accurate data entry to maintain security records database.
Perform security briefing schedule to include new hire, initial, closed area, foreign travel, exit briefings, etc.
Process visit requests, new hire packets and program access requests.
Set up and maintain Security and Safety files.
May destroy accountable and non-accountable documents.
Perform a variety of complex clerical tasks.
Responsible for the maintenance of all security files, reports, and correspondence as required by the Defense Security Service and other customer/regulatory agencies.
Provide first-line customer support for Security email correspondence assessing customer requests, coordinating appropriate support activities and ensuring customer satisfaction for daily support requests.
Applicant should be familiar with security disciplines to include visitor control, clearance processing, physical security, file maintenance and basic security doctrine.
Required to Interface with DSS, government customers and Contractor personnel as required. And may provide work leadership to lower level employees. Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of security and safety procedures and requirements.
Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, excellent computer skills and familiarity with electronic data transfers (secure and non-secure).
Well versed in all areas of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Ability to operate standard DoD security clearance databases and tools, including JPAS, JCAVS, and eQIP.
Familiarity with Security Information Management Systems.
Possess interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of individuals.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
