Independently lead contract negotiations with payors as assigned and in accordance with regional Payor Contracting Principles and organizational policies and procedures consistent with PH&Sā€™s Mission.

Develop reimbursement strategies working closely with Contract Compliance, Contract Analysis, HSNW, Revenue Cycle Management and the Service Area leadership. Assist with the development of revenue and deductions from revenue by payor for annual budgeting and long range plans for Regional entities as assigned.

Develop or review contract language for multiple types of entities including acute and sub-acute facilities, Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency facilities, Physician services, DME, IV therapy, Home Health Services, and Hospice, with input from Regional Legal Services as needed.

Communicate effectively with internal constituents, including HealthServicesNW, Revenue Cycle Management, Contract Compliance, Contract Analysis, and Service Area Leadership, on reimbursement strategies, mechanisms to improve payor compliance and to communicate status and outcomes of negotiations.

Implement negotiated payor contract agreements, including executive signoff, and providing paper or electronic documents to the Contract Assistants for internal communication.

Collaborate with Contract Analysis to provide reporting and analysis on payor performance, develop and implement tools to communicate externally and internally on key performance indicators.

Required

qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience

Minimum five years experience in contract negotiations and financial analysis in either a provider or payor setting

Experience in negotiating contract language and payment terms

Preferred

qualifications for this position include:
Master's in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or similar discipline

Accountable care, healthcare reform and expereince with new payment models strongly preferred
