As a Software Development Engineer you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. Your primary programming language will be C or C++, but you may have working knowledge of Java and Javascript. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
The Role:
A Software Engineer will provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of key components in some of the portable consumer electronics products being developed by Lab126. This hands-on position requires broad engineering competence and in-depth technical knowledge of embedded software development, as well as demonstrated experience successfully planning, organizing, and conducting software development projects in a dynamic environment.
Maintaining and improving existing software.
Preparation of technical requirements and software design specifications.
Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
Review design and code of peer engineers and provide feedback that improves product quality.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
7+ years of software development engineering experience, with understanding of embedded applications.
Proficiency in programming with C or C++.
Ability to understand and apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree a plus.
Experience with Java AMS, or JSR-209 (AGUI) a plus.
Embedded Linux and X windows experience a plus.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS and Javascript.
Working knowledge of at least one scripting language.
Excellent judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skill, including verbal, written, listening, and client based relationships.
