Minimum Skills/Requirements

Bachelors degree. Seven to 10 years experience in fundraising, financial planning, law or closely related field (business management, marketing, communications, etc). Knowledge of planned giving vehicles, experience in soliciting gifts, sales or client relations. Proficiency in MS Office programs.

Primary Job Functions

Identify, cultivate and solicit planned gift donors, including the use of planned giving software for gift proposals in response to inquiries or proactive, cultivated opportunities.

Implement a stewardship plan to maintain ongoing relationships with planned gift donors and oversee the Acequia Madre donor recognition society, including an annual donor recognition event.

Maintain the planned giving program's gift acceptance and counting/reporting policies.

Oversee print and web-based marketing efforts to promote planned gifts. Also maintain relationships with trust officers, estate attorneys and other advisors to promote planned gifts and serve as professional resources.

Managed a planned giving committee of the PHS Foundation board, and conduct occasional presentations to board members and other prospective donors.

Work collaboratively with development officers to manage relationships of shared donors and prospects.

Manage staff including a planned giving officer (slated for future hire).
