KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Dual Fuel Readiness Leader will work as a part of the VPI team to facilitate and ensure robust alignment between the technical, operations, and supply chain project leaders to deliver prototype and full production product on time, with excellent quality, working within the VPI framework.

This will likely include supporting multiple VPI programs simultaneously.

The Readiness Leader works with the VPI Purchasing Team to ensure the following:
  • Supplier selection work is on schedule, including supplier health and capacity assessments
  • Schedule alignment with the supply base for PPAP, and material receipt dates at manufacturing locations; including special attention to long lead-time component management
  • Supplier risk management processes are robust
  • Critical path schedule alignment with operations and technical functions
  • Adherence to VPI purchasing functional milestones
The Readiness Leader works with the CTCC Natural Gas Site Leader to ensure the following:
  • Prototype Engine Builds at CTCC are integrated and visible in the facility plan and materials are staged for efficient use of facility resources.
  • Manage the logistics of specialized component instrumentation for test.
  • Coordinate engineering build documentation to build area technicians.
The Readiness Leader works with the Plant VPI Team to ensure the following:
  • VPI Planned Line Build Engines are integrated and visible in the production facility plan.
  • Manage engineering supplied parts for Line Build engines.
  • Coordinate engineering build documentation to plant VPI Leader.
  • Production process readiness including assembly, test, and cycle time/build rate demonstration
  • Critical path schedule alignment with purchasing and technical functions
  • Adherence to VPI operations functional milestones
The Readiness Leader works with the Assistant Chief Engineer to ensure the following:
  • Engineering release plan aligns with materials support plan, and to provide metrics for such.
  • Delays in engineering release work are clearly visible and risk mitigation is implemented to minimize manufacturing and supplier readiness.
  • Integration of FIRG driven design changes into test product and future builds.
  • Critical path schedule alignment with operations and purchasing functions.
  • Adherence to VPI technical functional milestones.
  • Rules of Engagement are followed
The Readiness Leader works with the Parts/Service Project Leader to ensure the following:
  • Parts stocking and Kit Readiness at the parts distribution center for Field Test support.
The Readiness Leader coordinates the Field Campaign Process for the VPI Technical Team to ensure the following:
  • Engineering Design changes which impact field engines are properly captured through a formal process.
  • Materials are procured and delivered to the Service organization for campaign execution.
  • Closure on the campaign is again captured through a formal process.
The Readiness Leader is responsible for management of the change control process during VPI:
  • Chairs and manages the PCR for VPI change control process
  • Facilitates the transition from PCR to value package change request (VPCR)
The Readiness Leader will help define and development process improvements
  • Prototype order management
  • Transition from VPI to current product
  • CTCC Build Area planning and execution
Education: HS Diploma minimum.

SKILLS - FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL:
  • CPM/CPIM Certification strongly desired
  • 5+ Years Purchasing or Materials Management experience
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and/or engineering new product build coordination
  • User / Specialist level in New Product Development Gate Processes
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of design/product development is important.
SKILLS - QUALITY/IMPROVEMENT:
  • User level skills in Quality Systems, PPAP, certification in Six Sigma / DFSS a plus

  • Ability to lead / manage / coach teams, including leadership teams

TRAVEL REQUIRED (%): 10-15 Minimal travel to and from Columbus, IN and Seymour, IN
