Five Rivers Services, LLC (FRS)
provides full-spectrum communications, information technology (IT), network operations, video teleconferencing (VTC), audiovisual, multimedia, and command, control, communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) services and solutions to Department of Defense, Federal Government agencies, and the commercial sector. Currently, FRS operates in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Djibouti, and several continental U.S. locations.
Provides system analysis and technical writing services for various U.S. Coast Guard software projects. The technical writer will support the U.S. Coast Guard COP project team. The technical writer is responsible for creating high quality written materials for web content, brochures, case studies, user manuals, quick reference guides, and various technical documents required as a part of system development lifecycle support. He or she will perform rigorous format, grammar, and word usage editing on documents, perform CD production of documents, and will maintain version control. The technical writer may also develop white papers and/or project presentations – including content and graphics – for system/design changes as required by the Project Manager, requiring a high level of attention to detail and discretion with proprietary information.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years technical writing / editing
• Minimum of 5 years using MS Office products to include work within Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Clear, cogent, concise business and technical writing; strong editing capabilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
• This position requires a Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, History, Journalism or Communications, or equivalent experience
• Experience with MIL-STD-498 Documentation Requirements desired
• Experience with U.S. Coast Guard SDLC Process desired
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%); general office environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds required.
