Job Summary
The Drilling Supervisor / Drilling Foreman is responsible for managing and implementing the daily drilling operations in accordance with Company policies and procedures and customer requirements. This position works in conjunction with the Drilling Manager and Drilling Engineer, supervises drilling personnel, and ensures all drilling operations are consistent with safe, economical, and environmentally sound performance goals.

Provide direct supervision of the drilling contractor and all third party service personnel to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the drilling program objectives. Specifies and orders needed equipment, materials, services and supplies to conduct drilling activities.

This position will be working as either a lead (day) supervisor or as a night supervisor. The drilling supervisor will be responsible for one of multiple rigs working on a winter only exploration program, with an expected program duration of 5 months.

Work a rotational 2 week on / 2 week off schedule on remote drilling locations on the North Slope of Alaska. Transportation between Anchorage and Deadhorse will be provided, and transportation and housing will be provided while on the North Slope.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Implement drilling operations following established design specifications, contract terms, scope of work, and objectives.
  • Check and verify drilling parameters and document material supply and consumption.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to personnel and subcontractors.
  • Prepare daily drilling and cost reports; and document accidents, injuries, and unsafe workplace conditions and practices.
  • Ensure all drilling operations are in compliance with Company and customer requirements and federal and state regulations.
  • Ensures job objectives and implementation plan is acknowledged and understood by all involved parties.
  • Assist with blow out prevention operations (BOP) and report associated safety issues.
  • Monitor and report BOP equipment status and assist with emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain and communicate health, safety, and environmental protection policies and quality expectations to drilling personnel.
  • Monitors the rig site work area to ensure a safe and environmental conscious work environment.
  • Monitor and ensure the availability and operability of drilling equipment, supplies, and associated systems.
  • Ensure personnel comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • Previous experience with North Slope Alaska drilling strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years experience within the Oil & Gas industry, of which 5 years must be in a drilling supervisory position.

Must have or be willing to complete the following:
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training
  • Current Well Control Certificate (IADC or equivalent)
