Basic Function: Responsible for all patient account functions to include billing, coding, collections and insurance claim follow up. Ensures revenue cycle efficiency by posting charges and payments in a timely manner. Obtains accurate patient demographic and insurance information. Works directly with professional charges and reimbursement. Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required, Associate Degree Preferred
High School Diploma required. Associates degree or higher preferred. Certified Professional Coder; preferred Minimum of three years experience in a related field; preferably in cardiology billing. Medical terminology, revenue cycle management, ICD-9, CPT-4, HCPCS coding knowledge and medical record chart auditing. Knowledge of insurance claim processing and third party reimbursement guidelines. General knowledge of medical ethics, compliance and HIPAA. Clinical knowledge in the field of cardiology and applicable treatment regimens. Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a pressured environment. Demonstrates the ability to work with a diversified population; ability to handle stressful situations; critical thinking skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
