MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
·

Directs and supervises maintenance shop chiefs. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives from the higher level management.

·

Directs, coordinates, and manages organizational resources in making necessary adjustments of work assignments, repair/overhaul priorities and rearrangement of production/manufacturing lines.

·

Utilizes appropriate productivity/ technology improvement programs and associated tools to measure performance and determine shortfalls and track improved performance.

·

Determines all resources required to perform production workload and analyzes all processes in the organization to determine the impact of workloads and development of plans to accomplish near and long-range requirements.

·

Submits timely accurate fiscal and multi-year budget estimates based on evaluation and analysis of programmed/programmed depot operations.

·

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships to subordinates. Attends meetings and conferences in most cases to resolve maintenance and production functional area matters.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include managing and directing activities dealing wth repair, overhaul, manufacturing, and modification of components dealing in wide support of major weapon systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

1.

Knowledge of exchangeable tenants, policies and procedures.

2.

Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices and procedures, including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; the ability to change program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality; and the ability to establish objectives or performance goals and assess programs toward

their achievement.

3.

Knowledge of depot maintenance operations, concepts, practices and techniques critical to repair manufacturing and modifications of major weapon systems and components.

4.

Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, labor management, tenants, principles, programs and techniques.

5.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet challenging deadlines and skill in communication and developing interpersonal relationships.

Responsible for work area safety and is required to comply with all applicable safety directives, ensures unsafe conditions are immediately reported to the responsible office.

Position may require temporary duty and travel by government or commercial means.

May be required to report to work during base exercise, contingencies, or emergency situations.

May be required to work irregular shifts in support of a surge workload exercise, contingency or emergency.
