The Customer Service Manager is responsible for managing, planning and administrating the daily operational functions of the branch in the most cost effective and customer satisfying manner. The Customer Service Manager is responsible for leading and coaching a high performance team and complying with federal and provincial/state regulations. This position is a member of the operations team contributes significantly in managing and optimizing efficient and secure service to our customers.
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organizations mission.
Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services through process improvements.
Overall management of the Customer Service Representatives including performance management, recruiting, training, coaching etc. to ensure employee development, retention and satisfaction.
Oversee interdepartmental meetings, projects and accountability for reporting department activity levels.
Maintain open communication with all District Operations Manager, as well as all the sales departments keeping them abreast of any current or potential problems.
Manage and ensure compliance of all company and DOT policies and procedures.
Influence financial results by maximizing revenue and minimizing costs.
Manage performance through motivation, monitoring and coaching
Ensure safety and security of staff, property, vehicles and customer information.
Manage the implementation of staff training programs in conjunction with the District Operations Manager.
Lead the development of annual budget in conjunction with District Operations Manager.
Resolution of escalated customer issues relating to service delivery.
Manage the Fleet Maintenance of all company vehicles
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates Degree in Business, Transportation or Logistics / Bachelors degree preferred
Minimum 4 years previous fleet, routing, dispatch and distribution experience including previous managerial experience.
2+ years management experience to include employee relations, performance management, hiring, training and coaching.
Skills and Knowledge
Excellent physical ability and must be able to lift material up to 80-100 pounds
Able to use independent judgment and creative problem solving
Familiarity with a variety of the transportation & distribution concepts, practices and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to withstand the physically strenuous demands of lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects
Must be able to work in all inclement weather including extreme heat and cold
Demonstrate safe and efficient-driving skills
Ability to adhere to and enforce all security procedures.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class B.
Results and action oriented with a sense of urgency; motivated by success.
Comfortable in a fast paced dynamic environment.

Must be bondable.
