This position directs and coordinates the activities and personnel of a specific area or service of an assigned department or business unit to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
This position is stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. This position will assist other company facilities in Fairbanks as needed.
This position gets direction from the Area Manager.
Administers, supervises, and directs an ongoing business activity for a specific area or service.
Interprets the terms of various contracts and ensures internal compliance with those terms.
Implements an organized system of supervision and formal operating procedures.
Leads, directs and communicates with staff to keep them informed and motivated. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all assigned employees are defined and understood.
Maintains excellent customer/client methods of communications to permit efficient problem resolution and acceptance of new services or programs.
Performs a variety of general administrative and office tasks that ensure compliance of assigned responsibilities/activities with internal and external regulations as well as sound business practices.
Provides the managerial expertise required to continually improve assigned services.
Utilizes operational standards and targets to measure the achievement of the business unit’s objectives.
Devises effective solutions to business problems.
Supports a comprehensive safety program.
Takes positive actions to recruit, hire, and facilitate the development of NANA shareholders.
Consistently demonstrates remarkable skills in structuring assigned activities, teamwork, communications, operational efficiencies, handling of client/customer changing needs, decision making, developing employees, and analyzing and solving typical business problems.
Other related duties may also be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – Manages subordinate supervisors or employees. Is responsible for their overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
This Position Requires:
Two-year degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college, vocational, or technical school (candidates without such training need two years additional years of related experience).
At least one year of directly related supervisory experience.
The ability to operate office equipment and general business software programs.
A thorough knowledge of managing, planning and organizing the type of activities in assigned area with the ability to address the technical matters involved. Must be familiar with budgets, financial reporting and cost analysis.
Background position description ranking skill levels: Language skills sufficient to: 1. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 2. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 3. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Math skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, or volume. Reasoning abilities sufficient to: 1. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 2. Interpret and variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands: Incumbents are regularly required to stand, sit, talk, and hear. They are occasionally required to walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision, and depth perception. The noise level is usually quiet. The employee must have the physical stamina to work 8 to 12 hour shifts for extended periods of time.
