Current Position Available

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Position can work remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S. but requires 80-85% Travel

About the Position

This position will be responsible for but not limited to, functions pertaining to:

Project Management Program Development.

Provide Engineering Support.

Assist with Complex New Business Transition Proposal Responses.

Assisting with New Business Budget Development.

Ability to conduct Efficiency Improvement Process (EIP) Implementations.

Ability to Develop/Implement Lean-Sigma Tools including Kaizen events.

Accomplishing project objectives.

Initiating, planning, executing, Monitoring, controlling, and closing projects.

Consulting with Management to review project proposals to determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements and availability of resources.

Develops project plans specifying strategy, technical scope, goals, objectives, maintaining budgets, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources.

Coordinates project activities with Marketing, sales, engineering, operations, customer support, and client staff to ensure goals and requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Travel as required- about 80-85%

Project Management Program Development.

Assist in Mentoring Project Manager's / Industrial Engineer's through Transitions.

Review proposals.

Assist with Complex New Business Transition Proposal Responses.

Assisting with New Business Budget Development.

Familiarity with Pricing documents to discern a projects budget.

Ability to conduct Efficiency Improvement Process (EIP) implementations.

Ability to Develop/Implement Lean-Sigma Tools including Kaizen events.

Consult with all management/executive levels as required.

Accomplish project objectives.

Determine goals.

Plan and specify a strategy.

Identify risk(s) and prepare a contingency plan to mitigate the risk(s).

Review and understand staffing requirements.

Assign duties as required or directed.

Set Milestones and report status to Management and external customers.

Familiarity with WMS, YMS, LMS Tier 1 Systems (e.g. SAP, Red Prairie, Manhattan...). Kenco systems including WES and CWIC a plus.

Familiarity with Warehouse Layout and Design.

Invoice expenses accurately and in a timely manner.

Coordinate project activities.

Responsible for reading, writing and training on Standard Operating Procedures associated with this Job Description.

Responsible for reading and training on Control Procedures released on the Kenco Connection web site.

Be familiar with warehouse functionality, equipment requirements and lean processes.

Preparing, Presenting Gap analysis report at the end of projects.

Miscellaneous tasks assigned by management.

Education/Relevant Experience

Bachelor's degree required, Industrial Engineering degree a plus.

Four years of experience with product/program/project management or Third party logistics environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus.

Project Management Professional designation is highly desirable.

Background in the use/administration of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 Quality/Environmental Management is highly desirable.

Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is highly desirable.

Ability to manage and reconcile a Detailed Project Budget.

Additional Skills

Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly).

Ability to utilize Lean and Six-Sigma Tools and present results.

Ability to lead a Lean or Six-Sigma project to completion.

Ability to prepare procedures for both Department and Corporate best practices.

Competence with project management tools and procedures.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Ability to utilize Computer Aided Design Software (ie. Turbo Cad, Auto Cad, Pro-E...)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to Travel as required in order to support a project or facilitate a warehouse startup (Transition); use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee

frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to (30) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to industrial sites. Specific PPE requirements need to be researched prior to visiting to ensure compliance to all PPE related safety requirements. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Kenco Site management will provide a more thorough safety overview while employee is visiting.
