This position, located in Atlanta, GA, will work closely with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers and Designers, Project Architects and other senior and staff electrical engineers and designers where the primary engineering and design focus is Data Center and Mission Critical projects. There will be occasional fieldwork but minimal travel requirements.
The successful candidate will work at entry to intermediate level on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, will work under guided supervision from local senior electrical engineer and /or designers, receive direction for specifically defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and will be expected to develop judgment in selecting and interpreting information.
Additionally, the successful candidate must be a proven self-starter, highly motivated with a strong commitment to customer service as client interaction is practiced and developed.
Assist electrical engineers and designers in planning, developing, and producing project assignments
Expected to develop skillset to professionally prepare electrical construction drawings and specifications in conjunction with our in-house architectural, structural and mechanical design teams. Projects will introduce designer to electrical systems for normal and standby emergency power distribution, protected (UPS) power distribution, lighting, lightning protection and grounding. Experience with all of these aspects is preferred, although realized as minimal
Produce and modify AutoCAD drawings. AutoCAD experience is required
Liaises with electrical engineers and designers for project progress and direction
Assist in review of shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with construction document requirements
Learn and adhere to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all electrical design work in the local office
Associates degree preferred or proven equivalent industry experience.
Experience with building electrical systems, mission critical applications preferred. Industry and/or trade experience in heavy industrial/commercial electrical power/infrastructure/building projects acceptable. Training specific to Mission Critical systems will be provided.
Working knowledge and understanding of NEC and NFPA codes is beneficial. Training will be provided
Proven verbal and written communication skills in English; foreign language(s) a plus
