OfficeMax is an Equal Opportunity Employer and uses E-Verify to determine the eligibility of employees to work in USThe Field Retail Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting various business partners within an assigned district of retail stores by providing coaching and guidance on programs including associate relations, workforce planning, recruiting, compensation, EEO, safety, policy interpretation, and employment law practices. This position will partner closely with location leadership and Human Resources Manager to champion excellence and consistence and identify trends and patterns that impact associate morale and retention.1. Collaborate with location and market business business leaders to develop and implement solutions related to associate relations including workforce planning, performance management, salary administration, and associate communications. Define appropriate steps to adhere to company policy and ensure the fair and equitable administration of company policies and practices.2. Provide market human resources partnership in support of the business leadership team to drive excellence in meeting the needs of the business3. Demonstrate extensive working knowledge of the organizations change management process and exhibit leadership in establishing structured methodologies to coach and assist location leadership through organizational change4. Provide training, prepare documentation for affirmative action plans, assist in the investigation of EEO complaints, and may act as company representative for compliance reviews5. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and government reporting regulations related to the employment of associates including OSHA, EEO, ERISA, FLAS, guidelines, AAP, harassment, and discrimination6. Investigate and respond to litigation claims as directed by the Human Resources Manager7. Conduct training relative to human resource topics to include but not limited to team building, interaction management, and process improvement for associates8. Provide assistance to location and market leadership and/or Human Resources Manager for the management of workers compensation activities to include vendor performance, management of return to work programs, and settlement of recommendations
1. This position requires knowledge of employment law and general human resources practices acquired through formal education and 2-3 years of on the job application. Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources2. Professional designation such as a PHR/SPHR a plus3. Retail HR experience is a plus4. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook5. Applicant tracking system experience is a plus
