Previous experience required
The Licensed Practical Nurse performs nursing duties identified by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. All nursing care is under the direct orders of the physician. The LPN performs nursing care on clients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Essential Duties and Responsibility Levels
A. Provides on going observation and evaluation of the nursing needs of the patient and communicates to the RN
B. Proposes modifications to the nursing care plan as needed for review by the RN
C. Provides nursing treatments, diagnostic and preventive procedures as ordered
D. Performs preventive and rehabilitation nursing procedures as appropriate for the patient's care and safety
E. Observes signs and symptoms and reports to the physician reactions to treatments, including drugs and changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition
F. Teaches supervises and counsels the patient and family member regarding the nursing care needs and related home care problems
G. Documents significant information on the appropriate client record, nursing care plan or other document.
- LPN License
- Valid Driver's License
- 1 year experience as a LPN
- Extensive CNA experience
- Previous critical care experience
