The Revenue Integrity/CDM Manager is responsible for support within hospital revenue cycle operations related to charge capture, revenue integrity and charge description master (CDM) maintenance. Bachelor’s degree in a business related field is required. Seven or more years of revenue cycle experience may be considered as a substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Approximately six to twelve months to gain familiarity with the Hospital environment, department routines and procedures, and the full range of job duties. 5-7 years of acute hospital billing and coding experience and/or payer billing and adjudication knowledge. Understanding of clinical charge practices, billing rules, claims process, audit practices and revenue cycle functions and metrics. Experience with CDM and charge reconciliation process. CPT, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS and medical terminology experience. Extensive understanding of CMS policies and procedures, compliance and regulatory guidance and the impact these have on hospital reimbursement. Technical skills to be able to quickly learn the various IT systems and their reporting capabilities. Coding certification (e.g., Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Associate (CCA)) is preferred but will be required within first year of employment.
