The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for implementation of lean manufacturing concepts. The CI specialist will develop, implement, and maintain the sites overall continuous improvement operating system. They provide leadership, mentoring, and training to all levels and functions of operations on the use and practice of Lean & Kaizen methodology and tools, (DMAIC, Quick Changeover, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) Utilizing best practices, the CI specialist assesses, prioritizes, and guides the analysis of existing processes and drives process improvement across the organization. They must be able to facilitate and lead teams in developing and analyzing all process improvement techniques and methodologies in order to achieve organizational excellence.

Coach leaders in the application of lean concepts and tools

Gathering and analyzing performance data and charts against defined goals.

Facilitate and support training on Green Belt, 5S, Lean, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.

Manage value stream improvements using project management skills

Lead improvement initiatives through quarterly reviews, kaizen events, coaching, and/or facilitating project reviews

Implement / facilitate Tier Accountability system at respective site

Advise continuous improvement team members through best practice sharing

Constant pursuit and elimination of waste in all critical processes

Be an advocate for continuous improvement, bringing together staff of different disciplines and promote ideas for improvements and insight.

Must navigate manufacturing and office environments with ease, soliciting buy-in, and participation at all levels of the organization

Able to partner with site quality team to drive improvements and process adherence

Manage overall 5s program

Skills and Attributes needed:
Communicate effectively both internally and externally.

Strong leadership and team building skills.

Able to drive and lead change within the organization

Strong understanding of root cause problem solving (6 sigma, lean, etc)

Application experience using DMAIC methods

Understanding of strategy deployment a plus

Analytical, excellent attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to change.

Positive attitude, self-motivated, ability to multitask and set priorities.

Able to operate under pressure and to meet deadlines.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience within manufacturing.

Commercial and / or digital printing is a plus.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Business.

Experience from a multi-unit, domestic or international company.

Project Management experience. .

Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean Expert certification a plus
