DUTIES: Back to top · Provides technical advice on equipment design operation and characteristics in support of equipment modification and maintenance on Strategic Command Control System (SACCS) network.
· Serves as the 55 SCS/STZM technical expert advisor to 55 SCS leaders and maintenance technicians in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated systems and equipment.
· Provides expert systems/equipment advice and recommendations to senior leaders and maintenance technicians.
· Provides technical assistance to assigned unit in resolving complex system/equipment problems or design deficiencies.
· Prepares informal training to include over-the-shoulder, classroom, demonstration, one-on-one, and spontaneous training.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include k nowledge of a comprehensive range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices related to the systems/equipment including those that have complex technical requirements and require extensive specialized training and experience.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG): Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of a wide range of electronic systems/equipment to include operational requirements, maintenance concepts, principles, and practices.

2. Knowledge of required security and safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.

4. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and, identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.

5. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.

6. Ability to develop and conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned systems/equipment; and communicate well, both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

· This is a testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
