The Laboratory Technician performs routine tests using chemical and biological investigative procedures for the needs of patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric. He/She provides laboratory services under the administrative direction of the Manager/Director of Laboratory and the medical direction of a qualified pathologist; is responsible for the administrative operation of the laboratory; the application of all policies, procedures and quality control practices.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to project a Professional Image.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
Education and/or Experience:

MLT requires Associate Degree in Biology or Lab relatedsciences. The Medical Technologist requires a 4 year degree in Biology or lab related sciences.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certified/Licensed Medical Technologist in state of employment.
