Swedish/Edmonds has an opportunity available for an experienced Staff Registered Nurse. The Staff RN / Resource RN in the Nursing Administrative Support department is responsible for providing additional assistance in all patient care areas for limited periods of time to assist with emergency responses, patient management, and to facilitate patient throughput.
In this position you will:
Assess, treat, and care for for patients in a variety of age groups on multiple nursing units
Provide conscious sedation; short-term care and treatment for critically ill patients during intra-hospital transport for diagnostic tests and procedures and during on-unit procedures or emergencies
Provide care to patients, including but not limited to hemodynamically unstable patients, critically ill patients, airway or respiratory compromised patients, acute trauma and multiple system organ failure patients.
Serve as a resource for peers and other health care team members concerning routines and procedures
Provide wound care, including dressing changes
Communicate with the health care team, patients, and families
Participate in orientation and training of new staff members
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing within 5 years of hire
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 30 days of hire
One of the following upon hire and the other two certifications within 6 months of hire
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience as an RN in an Emergency Department or Adult ICU
Experience as an RN in an acute care setting
Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN)
