    Wage range for Staff Development Coordinator is $28.50 - $32.50 D. O. E.

    The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for providing nursing professional development and education services by assisting nurses in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them in acquiring the knowledge and skills so that they can competently collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnosis, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes in the specific setting. The Staff Developer will also be involved in the development and education services of the unlicensed assuasive personnel. The Staff Development Coordinator will be expected to work with the bedside nurse when able. The Staff Development Coordinator also acts as a resource for patient and family education. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Community Medical Center. Must be a positive role model and have excellent communication skills.

    Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an RN in the state of Montana. Current BLS upon hire, Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire required. Minimum of 3 years in the specific area of nursing. Knowledge of up-to-date clinical professional nursing skills; knowledge of the principles and practices of adult learning styles required. Knowledge and ability to adhere to policies and procedures as they related to nursing, safety and education required. Must have knowledge of federal and state equations governing the practice of professional nursing. Knowledge of the Montana State Nurse Practice Act is required. Knowledge of the assessment , planning implementation and evaluation of education programs. Ability to community effectively and to interact positively with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Ability to plan, organize, & implement a comprehensive and continuing nursing/general education program based on assessed needs. Ability to meet meets schedules and timelines. Must be able to operate standard office equipment including a personal computer and software applications. Proficient in English. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred / Desired: Masters Degree. Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing. Current Healthcare Provider BLS preferred. Certification in related speciality area preferred.

    Must have or acquire an AWHONN instructor certification within 6 months of hire date. Must be willing to work in an Outreach role. Outside travel required. Will work closely with OB Staff Developer.

    Day shift with some variable hours.

    This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol Testing according to MT Law 39 -2-205-39-2-211.
