The Boulder County Board of Equalization is seeking two energetic and positive Temporary Office Assistants, one full time and one part time (20 hours), to perform a variety of administrative support tasks.

The positions will entail both basic and high level administrative functions and will work for twelve (12) weeks at $14.00 per hour, starting August 19.

The full time assistant will work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM. The part time assistant will work Tuesday through Thursday, 8 AM to 12 Noon, and all day Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Examples of Duties:

Assisting the public in person and over the phone; providing information and referring individuals to appropriate staff; using computer software for data input and processing reports; maintaining files; proofing and indexing documents; operating various office equipment; completing and processing reports and forms; checking and verifying information to various records; opening, sorting, and distributing mail; and performing related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of general administrative or clerical experience. Additional related education may count towards required experience.

Must be able to handle a high volume of paperwork and data entry with accuracy and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of Excel is required. Familiarity with property valuation or assessment a plus.

The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in customer service, knowledge of fundamental math, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a sense of humor.

Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds; occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing; frequent hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and members of the public.
