      Description
      The person in this position serves as Air Staff Contingency Planning expert for Air Force Civil Engineering functions to develop and recommend policies and procedures applicable to the management of engineering contingency forces in accordance with legislation and DoD or AF directives. Conceives, plans, and recommends guidance to Air Staff senior leaders, FOAs, MAJCOMs, and wing level installations concerning manning, equipping, training, funding, and deployment of engineer forces, including Prime BEEF and RED HORSE, for peacetime and wartime missions. Provides technical and analytic support to USAF/A7CX; performs research via various computer systems and databases, writes information and position papers, creates and presents briefings pertaining to contingency engineering. Builds products and recommends points and counter points for Air Force leadership to use during negotiation and discussion with Army, Navy, JCS, OSD, NATO, and other agencies. Prepares products for congressional hearings and inquiries. Works with senior AF leadership in decision analyses and provides documentation for major issue resolution. Assists in developing and managing strategies to get contingency force resources and equipment when and where they are needed, with the right amount and right skills for peacetime and wartime contingencies. Uses independent judgment to ensure engineering skills and equipment are chosen and consistent with government needs. Renders recommendations and conclusions on new concepts, forecasts impact and consequences and their application. Serves as assistant principal point of contact on the Air Staff for Engineer continuity of operations and planning actions. The position is located in the Readiness and Emergency Management Division, Expeditionary Engineering Branch.

      Qualifications
      Basic Qualifications:

      Secret security clearance; Experience in AF Civil Engineering Readiness; Experience in staffing decision packages on the Air Staff.

      Bachelor's Degree
