ISU Dining is seeking applicants for the position of Manager of Food Services - Banquet Manager. This position is responsible for all catering events and bar/beverage service in the Club Section and Iowa State Center under the guidance of ISU Dining. Participates/supervises in food ordering, production, service, cash handling, sanitation and housekeeping. Responsible for the organization, direction, and staffing of this facility in order to meet departmental goals of serving high quality, safe and nutritious meals with culinary integrity to university guests and staff. Assists with the development of operational budgeting and the meeting of sales, budgetary, and financial targets. Participates in departmental decisions regarding operating policies, procedures and planning.
The successful candidate will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills; time-management skills and strong leadership abilities. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent food preparation, presentation and food marketing skills.
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years food service management experience. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of food production, food procurement, sanitation and service, cash control and personnel management. Must have or be able to obtain the National Restaurant Association's ServSafe certification.
Bachelor's degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management; Food and Nutrition; Business Administration; Dietetics or related field.
Catering management experience.
Experience with large quantity food production.
Experience with food service computerized systems.
Minimum $39,474; commensurate with qualifications
