Responsible for the overall accounting of the US Biomet 3i entity and oversight of the consolidation and reporting of all Biomet3i entities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Candidate will be responsible for all the following to include, but not limited to:
Working with others in the department, individual will be responsible for the overall accounting functions for the US entity, including but not limited to managing the US processes as they relates to commissions, inventory valuations, and all other judgmental reserves.
Responsible for the consolidation, reporting and analysis of all 3i entities including all subsidiary results, including overseeing all consolidations issues: eliminations, intercompany, investments in affiliates, etc.
Along with the Global Controller coordinate the global month, quarter and year-end close
Prepare, train and execute policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP
Assist in the preparation of US annual audit and reviews with external auditors, along with all consolidation matters
Assist Global Controller with the preparation of financial statements and analysis, including but not limited to the operating review package.
Perform special projects or provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested
Research accounting issues as requested by Global Controller
SUPERVISION: Directly supervises 3 Professionals. Responsible for building and retaining an effective team, interviewing, selection, coaching and development in accordance with all company policies and procedures. Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work, managing performance, addressing concerns/conflicts and resolving issues and concerns
Comply with all company regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions & safety guidelines.
Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from accredited college or university, plus minimum 10 to 15 years related advanced accounting and management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with business leaders / executives, providing insightful financial information and analysis. Experience and knowledge handling foreign currency a must
Certified Public Accountant preferred
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policies and procedures
Demonstrated leadership skills to include collaboration, communication, presentation, coaching, listening, team facilitation, performance management skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
Strong Computer skills: Microsoft office including Excel, Access, Oracle (or comparable large ERP system) expertise in financial applications.
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort, but may involve some lifting, carrying or pushing objects and materials of weight up to 25 pounds. Some international travel will be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
