This part time position is responsible to perform the following according to Good Samaritan mission, center/campus standards, procedures and policies:Community, Donor and Prospect Relations:Plans and manages a program of ongoing contacts with prospective donors, involving the administrator, advisory board members and volunteers. Secures and records basic background information about major donors and prospective major donors so that contacts made with them are appropriate. Designs an annual resource development plan in consultation with the administrator and sends plan to the Good Samaritan Foundation annually. Checks progress toward plan completion on a periodic basis. Visits personally with community individuals to cultivate and solicit gifts in support of the Center's mission. Plans and conducts events to involve community in the Center's mission and raise funds. Produces and mails written materials including newsletters and mail appeals; maintains the Center's mailing list; produces internal newsletters for Center staff. Documents and acknowledges gifts using computer software. Implements the center's donor recognition program. Implements news media contacts regarding Center services, events, activities and noteworthy people. Speaks occasionally at community events and service clubs regarding the Center's services, mission, and needs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Following are the minimum requirements to be hired into this job:Prior work experience in like or related position required. Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Ability and willingness to speak in front of small groups of people; ability and willingness to engage in one-on-one conversation with donors and prospective donors on a regular basis; ability and willingness to manage multiple projects at the same time; basic typing skills; basic computer, bookkeeping and data entry skills.
