RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I
With minimal supervision:
Responsible for evaluation, processing, negotiation and administration of sponsored research grant and contract proposals and awards;
Maintain current knowledge of contracting practices, business and technology trends as relates to GT contracting units;
Respond to inquiries and provide direct contractual services and guidance to faculty, staff and students on sponsored research agreements including review, analysis and interpretation of all new grant and contract awards;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience at a non-profit, educational institutional and/or Federal Government or Federal government prime contractor;
Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, A-133, the FAR, the DFAR and Bayh-Dole Act and the ability to interpret and apply these;
Computer related experience to include usage of databases, operating systems, office automation applications;
Ability to interact with key faculty members, staff members and students in a multi-cultural environment;
Must be able to deal with constantly changing work demands -prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and procedures;
Able to work independently and in coordination with intra-university teams to meet deadlines;
Experience in contract database management systems.
5 years in organized research administration;
University experience preferred;
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person (green card holder)
Must be able to obtain a national security clearance
Professional certification in research administration (CRA) is preferred or completion of certification is expected.
