General Summary:
A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. These duties include but are not limited to providing clinical and supportive services to patients, providers, and staff, greeting patients, creating or verifying, analyzing and updating patient insurance information.
Specimen collection, preparing for exams, patient history collection, performing screening procedures per provider guidelines, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting with other specific practice procedures (varying by office).
May be assigned to various offices including medical specialty departments.
Education:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
Medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting preferred
.
Experience:
Minimum three years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Previous successful experience with specific practice specific procedures required including electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection.
Other Requirements:
Medical Assistant
Certification preferred.
Must possess a current CPR certification.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and car insurance and be able to travel between sites as required.
