Responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of the monthly flight schedules for the worldwide flight attendant population. Leads other team members who have the responsibility of constructing and awarding cost effective, reliable, and contractually compliant schedule pairings and monthly lines of flying. Responsible for initiating, developing, and implementing strategies in support of Crew Schedule Planning priorities.
Effectively identifies and analyzes opportunities for productivity improvement and performance enhancement across multiple workgroups.
Creates and maintains scheduling models that support optimal utilization of flight attendant manpower.
Develops new initiatives and approaches to schedule optimization and line construction which result in the most cost effective schedules.
Performs studies and analytical evaluation of scheduling-related proposals and initiatives.
Develops and delivers presentations to leadership representing Crew Schedule Planning.
Represents Crew Schedule Planning at cross-divisional meetings and leadership functions.
Interacts and communicates with base leadership and the flight attendant population regarding notable scheduling information.
Acts as liaison to Crew Staffing & Analysis and Crew Operations teams to identify and implement improvements in pairing construction to achieve increased operational reliability.
Evaluates proposed routes and schedule changes to determine most optimal way to build pairings.
Makes recommendations to Marketing and Aircraft Scheduling regarding changes to flight times which would result in scheduling efficiencies and cost reductions.
Manages ad-hoc projects in support of Crew Resources and the Inflight division.
Leads meetings with union schedule committee members and acts as central point of contact for issue resolution.
Provides leadership, coaching, work direction, and feedback to Crew Schedule Planners.
Ensures all FARs, contractual work rules, and timelines are adhered to during pairing and line construction, and within the bid and award process.
Manages the publication and distribution of all bid package materials in a cost effective manner.
Serves as subject matter expert related to automated scheduling applications.
Oversees the yearly flight attendant vacation bid and award process.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Advanced analytical and communication skills required
Proficient in MS Workd, Excel, Power Point required
3-5 years of crew scheduling experience requried
Advanced knowledge of crew resource systems including pairing and/or line construction applications required
Prior airline experience - scheduling, pricing or planning preferred
Regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with United's policies is required
Attendance is required at work location
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
